As the Coronavirus Pandemic unfolded, 2020 became a year for much reflection. Like many businesses, we found ourselves searching for ways we could help with the effort to support front-line health workers and patients generally.
Always practical and sensing the urgency, we fast realised that we could use our design skills in a new format: to create places for respite from sickness, worry & often unrelenting shift-work in hospitals, clinics and charitable centres.
But this was just the beginning…
“We believe that your environment can have a profoundly restorative effect and there are so many charities, initiatives and institutions that are in desperate need of these havens of calm and comfort.”
As we realised how much these havens were needed, the idea grew quickly beyond a Covid response.
Today, we are keen to work with a truly diverse selection of organisations attached to the charitable sector: foundations small or large.
The need for this service is not restricted to key workers and patients, but to numerous charitable spaces that benefit the community, from a women’s refuge to a homeless centre or youth club. Our remit is simply to find the gaps and use our skills and our network to fill them with great design.
